Crofting Connections- Crofting Connections is an educational project, which enables over 3,000 young people aged 3 to 18 living in remote rural communities throughout the Highlands & Islands to learn about crofting past, present and future. On the site are several examples of educational activities arranged during visits to schools including video.
Scotland’s Rural Past
Scotland’s Rural Past was a five year initiative, run by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) with partnership funding. The project, which ran from October 2006 to September 2011, worked with local communities to research, record and promote Scotland’s vanishing historic rural settlements and landscapes. Over 60 community-led projects were initiated across Scotland during the duration, and you can find out what our participating projects did on our Projects pages.
