Moray Heritage Memory Project is a Joint Community Partnership Project between Royal Voluntary Service, Moray Council, Schools, Community Libraries and Museums.
Moray Heritage Memory Project is an online project which began in Dec 2011.
It is planned to mount an exhibition later this year in connection with the project, featuring personal memories, photographs, sound recording and donated artefacts.
The Memory Project is gathering the memories of older people from the Moray Community.
It builds on the successful WRVS Heritage Plus Project in Sussex in 2007. Moray Council Community Care and Moray Community Libraries Heritage Group chose the subject of “First Jobs and Lost Skills” as the theme for the project.
The website design was created by Service Manager, Claire Griffiths developing from her previous project, Keith Primary School Memory Blog.
The main aims are to :
- Engage participants to share their memories, knowledge, life experience, culture and traditions.
- Gather a range of rich heritage of photographic, oral and written material via the various collections in the county and online (e.g. Scran) and post it online in an accessible manner (subject to copyright).
