Pilmuir Primary School WW1 project

The pupils at the school are starting work on a study of their local war memorial.
Their research will be added to this page as the studies continue. There are a large number of soldiers and different regiments represented on the Memorial.
Initially the children are studying the Seaforth regiment.
Working in pairs the children are looking at the following:

  • the Moray Roll of Honour book
  • Commonwealth War Graves Commission website
  • Libindx database

Writing Home
The class have been writing home letters as if they were soldiers in the trenches. They had to try to imagine what it was like at the front, think of suitable content for the letter and how they would feel about the people back home.
