Burghead P7 WW1 project wk 4

P7 drew together the information into a single folder ready to create an online book. They looked through the names and addresses of soldiers and see if there are current relatives living in the town at the same address.

There were a few difficult problems such as finding details for William Main who was listed under the New Zealand Rifles. He died on 10 June 1917. Having searched CWGC website a number of times we eventually looked for anyone called Main in the New Zealand Forces. This generated one James Main who was in the right brigade, the correct date of death 10/6/1917 and the same parents, Alexander and Elspeth Main of 60, Forteath St., Burghead, Scotland as the details shown in the Moray roll of honour for William. Found at last and a certificate generated. We also found a supplementary section at the end of the Moray roll of honour book containing details of some of the soldiers on our list including James Cormie and his contribution to WW1.
