Evelyn Mulholland’s work in the post office

She was going to be a teacher but her mother did not want her to go. She started work in the Post Office in Elgin in 1939 at the age of 18. Her job involved sending telegrams, selling stamps and sorting out the post for delivery. She enjoyed her job. The pay was good and she got to meet new people. There was some training on the job and she stayed in it for 20 years.
