Dorothy Miners’ work in a plant nursery

Dorothy started work as her father had been very ill and she needed to start work to help him. The family ran a nursery business which she helped with. They grew plants/ fruit. She got married at the age of 26 and moved down to Cornwall with her husband, who was a sailor. The nursery business is no longer in the family. She moved back up to Elgin when her husband died and has been here since then. She enjoys going for long walks with her dog.

Memory collected by Siobhan and Sam from S2 Elgin High School
