Old tenements on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street

Mrs Pirie worked in a fashion shop in Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. She started working there at the age of 14 selling shoes and gowns etc…She wanted a job in fashion. Her father forced her to work in a bank, which she didn’t like.  She worked Monday to Friday and earned 7 shillings and 6 pence. She worked there for 2 years. Thirty years ago she moved to Elgin to become a farmer. She had cows, 2 horses and an Italian bull.
